more Tim Holtz tags....

this is my version of day 11. i did not have any Seasonal dies to make the stamp, so i used the scroll. i used the wreath first, but it did not come out nicely. then i had to find a grunge piece that was suitable.........my goodness. the snowman from seasonal was too big, so was the one deer and the other one was too small. i had been eyeing the grunge baubles in the pack for some time now, and decided that it was time to use them. i first painted them white, like Tim did with his snowman, but they looked to "stripey" from the paint dabber. so i added a layer of Picket Fence crackle paint. sanded it off when it was dry, and then used the Pumice Stone distress ink to give it some dimension. the sentiment was also a problem - you can't really embosss or stamp nicely on crackle paint. first i colored a fragment red with Alcohol inks, and stamped over it. but it was as if the tag was just too bulky. then i decided to use one of these word thingies - can you believe that i can't remember what they are called right now!!!- used my Aged Mahogany and Walnut stain inks on it, sanded it a bit and accented the word with my Inkssentials white pen. added the bells and the ribbon. it was too empty. so i grabbed two of Tim's corners, made them silver with my alcohol inks, and there you go! Here is the link to Tim's tag

this tag was the hardest for me. Day 10. i do not own any thing snow flaky, except stamps. i tried stamping the background full of snowflakes and then adding the embossed packaging, but it look yukkie. so, i grabbed the seasonal grungeboard pack, and coloured the trees with my paint dabbers. it looked ok, but they were so bare, so i added little baubles as if they were Christmas trees with my Christmas red stickles! you can't really see it on the photo, but i used Tim's favourite stamp ( the speckle) with silver paint dabber around the trees. i used the swiss dots embossing folder by Provo Craft. here is the link for Tim's tag. i really hope you like these! today is the last day for the tags. i am so excited!

I love your choices on both of these. You used the technique and made them your own with the supplies you had and they turned out great.
