paris...........just because!
i am still at home sick with pneumonia. i have now been home for a
week, and i am feeling slightly better. i am literally holed up in the
house - have not left it in 3 days!! one good thing about being sick at
home, is that you have lots of time to just play a little for your own
sake......no deadlines, no pressure! i love it! (will i ever be able
to go back to work after these few days????) LOL!!
i am not a "girly" scrapper. i like neutral colours and i struggle to
work with pink and feminine. that does not, however, mean that i don't
want to sometimes work with it! these stuning papers by Best Creation has had me looking at them since they arrived at the shop a few months ago.... the story is that i have a friend, Stephanié Vallé who lives in France.
i met her in 1991 when we were both Rotary Exchange Students in the
USA. we spent 5 weeks together on a tour of the USA. she tracked me
down after 22 years, and when i saw how "Parisienne" she looked, i knew i
wanted to do a Paris page using these stunning Best Creation
papers.....just because i wanted to! i asked her to send me some photos
of Paris through her eyes, but as i could not wait any longer, i
downloaded some free images of Paris from the internet, and attached
them to the layout. once i get Stephanié's photos, i will just cover
these with hers. i am going to send her this page.....all the way to
France! just because!
i found a new font "Bohemian Typewriter" today and just had to use it! i inked the stamp i used here with Brilliance Lightening Black ink - it has a gorgeous shimmer to it! the seam binding was coloured with Distress Paint, Distress Stains and a Distress Inkpad!
had to also use some washi-tape! i realised over the weekend that i did not own ANY washi-tapes....how is that even possible??? i used texture paste and a honeycomb stencil with perfect pearls over it, after it was dry, to add some visual interest on the background....
more stamping and washi-taping!
i dug through my stash and got out the Twinkling H2o's to colour my bare chipboard - does anyone remember those? it is just magical! i then covered the painted chipboard with some Cinnamon Stickles....
also got into my box of flowers and grabbed a few that seemed to fit together and created a nice cluster........
the finished layout! i loved how it turned out in the end - it was just fun to make!!
