the color purple....

in 1987 i was 15 years old. i read a book that had a great influence on my life. i made this layout in tribute to the Color Purple, by Alice Walker. very basic, i used a TH mask and some home made glimmer mist on cream linen Prism Cardstock. i then did the stitching.

the stitching was done with a Bazzil template and i used purple embroidery thread and green ribbon thread. i then punched some circles and cut them in half to make the scallop border.

the rubons are from a local company and they are great. i love the funky font!!! hope you like the layout! i will be back with more ( hopefully) over the weekend! the classes are fully booked - we only have two spots open for the morning class and one in the afternoon, so it will be a LONG day! but i am so excited! the layouts are beautiful and the ladies are VERY excited!! i will report back after the class!! enjoy your weekend!

Hi Cariena, This layout is beautiful, and so unique. Great job. My Mom likes purple Iris's, she has always favored them. Her favorite flower though is yellow roses. I had a great Aunt named Iris, and she was named after the purple iris, of course she was beautiful. Blessings to you, Rea
