fish...........
it is time to use RIBBON at Scrap and Stamp! i had something COMPLETELY different in mind when i started the layout, but it just evolved.............i was going to do a very nice and neat linear double page with all kinds of wonderfully artistic and fascinating detail, but it took on a life of it's own!! first of all - the pictures are of Desiree's youngest daughter, Julina, and her fish. the pure satisfaction on her face as she looks at that little fish, says it all!! the sequence of photos clearly show her in control of every aspect of the process - putting on the bait, casting, removing the hook, admiring the fish - and all of this at the tender age of 6!!! i used a plain light blue CS for my background and i sanded all the photos and matted them on dark brown CS. the reason the dark pink is in the layout, is because some of the paper i was going to use as a feature had a very thin stripe of this colour in it. i matted the main photo of Julina with the pink CS. i then decided against using the paper as a feature, and cut the stars with my SLICE and layered them as features. i used my ribbon slot punch from MM that i had not used in 2 years in the bottom left of the page and i threaded the ribbon through the slots. i added the brads between the slots. i then took more ribbon and made the loops on 3 of the photos to create a visual triangle. i forgot how i had my photos arranged, and i ended up with this big open spot underneath the top 2 photos. i just added a strip of ribbon there, and i coloured some silver ribbons with a Copic marker of the same pink as my CS. i could have used alcohol inks, but i did not have the right colour. i stamped the corner in the bottom right and added a few buttons to my layered stars. i felt that the layout needed something else, so i punched 2 circles with my BIG punch and i cut them in half and added them where i felt there were empty spaces. i took this photo last night. this morning when i woke up, i added some more half circles to the pink circles - they felt empty to me. i left the layout at the shop, but i will upload a picture sometime this week. there you have it! hop on over to SSS and see all the other lovely layouts the DT have come up with, and enter your layout for the chance to win a SUPER prize this week!!
