inky business...........

so, i am busy with my Mister Huey experiments!  i am also still working through the pile of original photos that have been following me for the past few years.......this page was an accident.  i had this piece of cream CS left over after i cut a piece off to do some journaling for another layout.  i had wanted to see how Mister Huey would react to cardstocks, and i just grabbed it and placed a very old Heidi Swapp mask over it and misted with Mister Huey Clay.  i did not like it at all - the mask pattern.  so i took Mister Huey Silver and Clay and just misted heavily.  i then sprayed lots of water over the inks.  i added some Broken China Distress Stain after wetting the paper considerably.  i then allowed it to dry naturally (i actually forgot about it!)
as i was going through my photos the next day, i found this one of Marius' son, Dean.  it was taken 11 years ago - before Digital Cameras, and i only still had this one.  i knew i wanted to eventually do something with it.  it was taken on our way back to JBay from the Tsitsikamma one day.  Dean asked to stop and run into the Canola Fields.  i just sanded the photo, rounded the corners and mounted it first on white CS that i edged with Jenni Bowlin's Malted Milk Ink, and then Black CS.  also rounded the corners. i painfully stamped the sentiment with an MSE alpha stamp that is so small that it took almost forever!  but i really like the effect!
the only embellishment is a scroll that i painted with some Golden Micacious paint - it has a faint texture and shimmer.  i love this layout.  it is so simple, yet i feel it really speaks volumes!  have you ever made a "mistake" or turned an experiment into a layout you really liked?
