This Journey...
my friend Frank Garcia works for Prima Marketing and he has been designing the most amazing collections for the past 3 or 4 years but THIS one... Frank... you outdid yourself.
i can't wait to see you... (oh, for those of you who don't know, Frank will be arriving in South Africa in 10 days' time to teach 6 classes here)
i used some photos taken earlier this year when Marius and i took a walk on the beach. they are not the greatest photos, as they were taken with Marius' cellphone, but the moment was just so special, when i was cleaning up my computer this weekend i found them and i knew they needed to be scrapped. Marius and i have been on quite the journey the past 18 years and we don't get a lot of these precious moments. just being together.
above is my completed double page. i used a lot of flowers - Prima is known in the Scrapbook Industry as the "flower people" - yes, they do make beautiful flowers. but i have never seen flowers like these... the craftmanship, the texture, colours, designs - all superb.
the chipboard sticker sheet is packed with value - two 6 x 12 sheets with foiled and glittered designs - you just want to use them ALL on your project. i inked my "journey" title with a little Ground Espresso Distress Ink as it was just a tad too white for me...
the crystals from the Say it in Crystals pack are gorgeous... a few different shades of blue with a hue of green and some gold ones too.
the washed metal trinkets are stunning - you can just add them to your project - they don't need any help being just PERFECT. i did not use ANY techniques on this page - i simply printed my photos, cut some paper and placed it all the way i wanted it. the only mess i made was adding some ink splats using various mediums - Prima Color Bloom Mist, Anna Griffin Pigment Powder and Finnabair Heavy Gesso.
so, Frank - i can't wait to see you and HUG you when we pick you up at the airport... i know the people attending your classes here in South Africa are going to LOVE this collection just as much!
