These Women....
today is Women's Day here in South Africa.
it is the first year that i have made the decision to close the shop - first time in 8 years. i have a very good reason.
i have been thinking about the women who played a role in my life the past year. there are hundreds of them. to each of you - remember that you are enough, precious and created in God's Image.
there are, however, a few women i have to single out...
they are the women i share my everyday life with. we work together. but more than that, we literally are almost bound together. i don't subscribe to jargons like sisterhood etc, but i do see them as family.
even closer than that.
they are the women who pack your orders, listen to your phone calls, read and answer your emails, whats app messages, Facebook posts, pack your kits, pack your orders, make your coffee when you visit, make sure you enter into a welcome, clean, beautiful haven - protected from the harsh world out there, and feel welcome the moment you step into our home away from home - Scrapbook Studio, situated at 106 Da Gama Road, Jeffreys Bay.
you guys are amazing. i know i don't say it enough, i know some days you feel as if you would like to just run away when paper, glue and flowers become the end all and be all... when clients are unreasonable, take their frustrations out on you, when i move the whole shop around, make you pack thousands (literally) of packets full of SECRETS, when you have to leave your own homes to travel for Events, when you have to work long hours when we host Events... when i get upset when we don't have enough balloons to put up every day (yes, really) when i get upset when there are not enough snacks for the scrap and chat ladies (seriously - has there ever not been enough) and you just indulge me and keep smiling...
they are also the women who, every year on Women's Day, work, so that our clients can have a great Women's Day. i love all our clients - you all deserve to be spoilt on this Women's Day.
but so do these ladies...
i could not have asked for a better team, better friends, better co-workers and better women in my life.
YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!
Elsie, Priscilla, Lizel, Valencia, Kim and Desiree - i salute you. this Women's Day is for YOU.
hope you are doing NOTHING....
