demo day @ Scrapbook Studio Layout

A while back we had a FREE product demonstration day at the shop. We got to demo Tonic Nuvo Mousse,  Glitter/Sparkle Pastes, Couture Creations Gloss Finish or 3D Gloss Texture Paste and various Pigment Powders.

We used a Lady Pattern Paper Technique Cardstock for demonstration purposes.  We just love this paper. It can handle moisture as well as heat (obviously within reason as all paper) and the Pigment Powders just loved being misted on this surface...  hope you can see the shimmer in the photo below.

To achieve this look, simply sprinkle some of the Pigment Powders onto your background and then mist it with water to make the powder react with the water.  You can use a heat tool to dry the page.  of course it will have slight wobbles, but you can simply glue the whole piece to a piece of thin cardboard, which will straighten it out again.  You can make your own glimmer mists with Pigment Powders as well, you simply mix the powder with water in a mister bottle.

Glitter and Sparkle pastes are literally GLITTER with a little paste that adds dimension to your projects when used through a stencil.  It is thick and luxurious, not runny at all and dries fairly quickly.  The glitter effect is subtle - loved working with it!

We applied the Couture Creations Gloss Finish or 3D Gel Paste through a Kaisercraft Stencil - Collage and then sprinkled it with a custom made glitter mix.  love how it picks up all the colours we used on the project.  You should try mixing a few colours of glitter together - it is like magic!
We used Lady Pattern Paper Dainty Damask together with a  Studio 75 Violet Love - the two complement each other perfectly! We used the LPP Paper as a base, fussy cut the flowers from the Studio 75 paper and also used it to stamp my title and type my journaling on.

Tonic Nuvo Mousse is one of our favourite products at the moment.  Here we simply applied it with a jumbo dauber through a Scrapbook Studio Just Because Moroccan stencil.  this is just to add a soft look to a layout - it does not add texture when you apply it with a sponge.  The beauty of the mousse is that you can apply it with a spatula and then achieve a textured look. We also used the mousse to chalk the edges of our papers and to make the splats on the page.

We finished the page off by adding some of the Kaisercraft Silk Foam Flowers Endri had made demonstrating how fabulously easy it is to make them - it just adds a softness to the project and livens it up.

We hope you will also try just creating a background and then filling it with elements - it is a lot of fun and there are NO RULES - except to enjoy yourself and have fun!

Hope you all have a great and creative week.

big hugs
