father's day card...
i don't have any children, but my husband has two boys. he struggles with being a part time dad, and is not always sure of how to be a father as he never had a good relationship with his dad. i made this piece for him. i used my new Wendy Vecchi stampset and the distress inks with a few drops of water flicked. i also did some water stamping, very subtle. cut the scallop oval out and mounted it on the patterned paper.
i made the grungepaper rose by using a technique i found on Scrapbook.com. here is the link. i love grungeboard and grungepaper. i traced the butterfly from an old piece of grungeboard's negative and cut it from grungepaper. i put it through my cuttlebug ( swiss dots)and the used chipped sapphire distress ink to get the color onto it. i then sprinkled some weathered wood distress powder on it ( the ink stays wet very long) and i embossed it. i then added a very thin layer of rock candy distress stickles. the rose was colored with home made "glimmer mists" - aged mahogany and a few others. the leaves were painted with green smooch and then i used my vintage photo distress ink to just remove most of the shine and bright green.
here is just another close up so you can see the rock candy distress stickles and the nice shimmer on the rose. all these products are in the shop. the website will be up soon, but if you need anything, please mail me. Hope you like it and thanks for leaving a comment!!

nice from you to make a card for your husband !
I like the whole composition : love the texture on the butterfly. The rose is also very nice : looks 'twisted". I 'll use the link to see how it is made. Thanks for sharing.
greetings from Belgium
