a miracle.....................
the challenge this saturday at Scrap and Stamp Saturday is to use buttons on a layout. i love buttons and i think i use them on almost every single layout i do, but i think the challenge was more to use them as a main feature. i used a photograph of my nephew's little boy, a fourth generation, living, namesake BEAUTIFUL boy. he has a stunning face and his complexion is exquisite. i will definately be using more photos of him!
i used my buttons as a page divider, so to speak. i just placed them on both sides of the photo and then sewed them to the page. the journaling was done by stamping the Wendy Vecchi scallop journal block onto cream Cardstock with Ranger's Adirondack Espresso ink. the image was then cut out and mounted onto a thinnish layer of chipboard. i then used my tracing circles to first trace the dark blue border, and then a wider circle for the last border. cut them out and layered them on top of each other.
i also stitched a scallop border and added a little button into each scallop.
i stamped the Hero Arts sentiment with Palette's Burnt Umber - i did not want it too dark. hope you like the page - please leave a comment if you do! my nephew's wife likes things minimalistic - i am not sure if this will get her stamp of approval, but i do hope so!!!
be sure to enter the challenge this week at SSS, a stunning prize is up for grabs! grab those buttons and start creating!!
