Retailer's Day at the Scrapbook Convention
RSE had a wonderful workshop for us retailers at the convention. we got to use some of the stunning products that they distribute and create a great item to be used as home decor! i have never done a printer's tray before. i really enjoyed it! we used loads of Ranger products and of course October Afternoon.
the corrugated board got some gesso applied with our fingertips and then we used our distress inks over it. the gesso acts as a resist. Claudine Helmuth's products are wonderful - the gesso was so yummie to work with! the roof of our little house was made using a bronw envelope that was sprayed with the Ranger ink refresher, massaged, then crumpled and the perfect pearls brushed on when it was dry. the tag was made using alcohol inks ( love those) and the block that says "am" was inked with Stazon, then i put some smooch paint on, and then sprayed it with smooch mist. if you leave the smooch paint to dry, the inks don't blend, but i really liked the effect! you have a better view of it on the picture below
lots od blending with the distress ink blending tool and some distress inks.
also did a birdcage - inked it up with Stazon and then added the stickles. the bird was cut using the SLICE. Lynn was very organised and this class was alot of fun. i do think the retailer's day this year was fantastic - the products were showcased by both companies, and we did wonderful project. i am busy finishing the Scrapping Fever project, and will post it as soon as i am done! hope you like it!
