turning cheeks....

turning the other cheek is really, really hard.  but,we need to know, as Christians, that as God forgives us completely, totally and with no resentment or bitterness, we should also forgive.  we should also remember the words of Matthew 6:15. that verse is just so important. living in the world has made it so hard to live by this...... one of the most profound statements Jesus ever made.  whether i like it or not, if i claim to be a born again Christian, i need to live by these words of Jesus.  i need to turn the other cheek and i need to totally forgive.  life is not fair and when we try and live according to the Word, we are promised persecution.  it might not be a case of fear of being arrested for our faith.  it is most probably a case of being lied about, ridiculed, treated unfairly or torn apart by other people.  stay strong.  do not waiver. turn the other cheek, forgive - even though it might be seem so unfair and unrighteous.  it is more important to be obedient to God's Word, than what it is to be popular and treated fairly by the world.......  we are not supposed to conform to this world (Romans 12:2) so we should expect a few (several) slaps on our cheeks by the people in this world. stay strong and keep the faith......xxxxxx

Forgiveness must be one of the hardest things to REALLY do. We say we forgive, but we still resent. Only with God's help can we truly forgive and in so doing we set ourselves free. Thank you Lord for your grace and healing from past hurts.
Forgiveness is the most freeing experience that I have ever experienced. It took me a long time to forgive, but with God's help I was able to. I just found that it was a process that I had to go through as there was so much hurt and every time something would trigger the pain, I would have to choose to forgive and forgive and forgive. Thank you God for your grace and patience with me.
