hello everyone! i know i have been MIA for a few days - great things happened in my life and i promise i will share all of it with you, but for now i have to tell you about the wonderful stamps
Lacey has at
her shop and as a give away on
Scrap and Stamp this week!

the challenge was to use this sketch as inspiration and then use one of the stamps from
Lacey on the layout. i loved this excited boy, and immediately thought of him phoning his grandmother after he saw the ocean for the first time!! i have had the paper for ages - it is from MME, and the photos were printed more than a year ago when the talented
Ms Nolte from
Scrapcouture came to give a class in Jeffreys Bay. i did not use them, then, and when i was looking for photos, found these! the colors were a perfect match! i cut the scallops with my Fiskars cutting system, and then just mounted the photos onto the paper after i sanded the edges. i added the blue rhinestones to the inside of some of the scallops for detail.
the image was colored with my Copics and then i scanned it and resized it, to make the strip dividing the two pictures. i stamped the journaling spot with Moonlight White Brilliance and did the journaling with my Inkssentials White Opaque pen.
i colored the chipboard letters and the swirl with a blue Copic Marker, and added blue stickles to the "ocean" word. i decided on something different for the swirl - used clear irridescent embossing powder on that.

here is a close up of the coloring and the swirl. i love that embossing powder. i added 3 pieces of ribbon at the bottom and that's it! hope you like it and please visit
Scrap and Stamp for a chance to win the wonderful prize this week!!
