the Scor Pal and I........

i think the Scor Pal and i are now in a love/hate relationship. it is fine when they talk about straight scoring. but when the tutorial starts talking about diagonal lines, my brain gets scrambled. you have to understand that trigonometry was not my thing at school. neither was technical drawings. so, here i am, 20 years after i finished highschool, and i wish i could go back to take art and drawing!!! anyway, i am still trying to learn how to use this contraption so that i can teach the class about the Scor Pal, but i fear i will have to pay the students, because i am useless. after many failed attempts at making some triangle card, i decided to do something easy, like make those diagonal scores and ink them. well, i tell you, it is VERY hard to do that! easy when they are little squares, but jeepers, when they have to be turned sideways, i tell you, it is NOT EASY as you can see, the lines are everywhere!! i did have fun, though!! i grabbed an Adirondack ink pad and started blending to see if the white will stand out, then i grabbed the flower stamp and stamped first 3, then 5, then everywhere - flowers. then i thought it would look nice as a background. then i went looking for a main focal stamp. then i stamped it in stream, forgot to clean the craft sheet, so when i blended the Espresso ink, it picked up all the leftover stream ink...........then i punched some cream circles, cut them in half and thought i would make some makeshift scallops. they did not work out so perfectly, but who cares! then i added some teal CS that i sanded, to the back of the butterfly image, raised it a bit, added some ribbon to cover an inksmear (yip) and the bow - just because i really like working with my bow easy, and i don't get to use bows that much!! the sentiment is from HOTP and the three rhinestones are there because the rules say so!!! LOL!! anyway, my fellow crafter Susan is trying to educate me over the airwaves - she is a genius..............
