hudson's birthday

there is a certain man i love that is not my husband. his name is Hudson Kilpatrick and he is my client and also my friend. he turned 76 today. he is a man of great stature in my eyes. his wife died in 2005 and he has since then taken care of his severely handicapped 40 year old son by himself. he put David into a frail care centre two years ago when his health deteriorated and he could not manage him by himself anymore. he fetcches him twice a week for a sleepover. twice a month they take me to lunch too. Hudson is an example for me. in every way. he is poised and solid. he is gentle with David and brags about his "good boy" all the time. i deal with lots of elderly people in my profession. there are a few i really admire. Hudson has to be on top of the list.

i used one of Tim Holtz's new embossing folders with coredinations cardstock. i sanded it after i put it through the cuttlebug. layered it on some papers and stamped the Paperbag Studios image and the Fiskars sentiment. a few stitches and a few buttons finish the card. a no-frills card for a no-frills, but WONDERFUL man! happy birthday, Hudson!!!!
