niagara falls.........
in 1991 i had the privilege of being an exchange student to the USA for a year. i still maintain that it was the most wonderful year of my life. i made a chipboard album ( a VERY, VERY thick one) of some of the moments, but i still have about 1000 photos that need a place.... while i have been off work after my operation, i have been sorting out my patterned papers, and finding ones i want to throw out. among them i found some unlikely matches, though, and this double page layout was the result of some of those findings!
i chose my photos from my day at Niagara falls - the pictures are almost 20 years old, and they have not been in an album, but in a box for all those years. i used them as is, with the exception of the one of me - i scanned that one in and changed the colour and cropped it a bit. i then took my Prism Kraft paper as a background and just randomly placed pieces of the patterned paper and hope for the best. i also found a travel stamp set that i had never used before, and made some embellishments by just stamping on the yellow, cutting it out and adding it to the blank spaces. i also used Brilliance Graphite Black to stamp directly onto the photos.
for the title i used chipboard and my slice. i painted everything with my Denim paint dabber and stamped a swirl stamp with Stazon Cotton white on the N, as i was going to use Glossy accents to add dimension. i decided against it, as i have tried it before on my title with paper, and it did not go off very well.
here is a close up of some stamping on the photo and you can see some stitching and a bling showing itself! hope you like it! it really was just thrown together with left overs!
