ushaka @Scrap & Stamp Saturdays!!

hello everyone!! hope you are all fantastic - i am very well, and so glad to have an afternoon and a whole day to myself! i took out 2 dvd's, and will be curling up on the couch after this blog..........yippee!! letters to Juliet and Egoli! (have to support local!)
anyway, the challenge at Scrap and Stamp Saturdays this week is to use the great sketch provided. this layout is my interpretation. my husband went to Ushaka in Durban a few months ago, and left his camera at home. he bought one of those Kodak disposables. i have been driving around with it in the car for over 5 months, and finally got it developed yesterday. i don't think Marius should leave his day job to become a photographer, but there were a few pics that were usable......

here is a close up of the big fish and the big bracket! chipboard covered with a variety of embossing powders that i mixed a few years back when Jowilna Nolte came to teach a class in Jeffreys Bay.

this little element is one of Tim Holtz's Sizzix Bigz dies. i embossed the wreath with the same embossing powder as the bracket. blended the shield with some Tea Dye distress ink, and added a brown shadow with a Copic Marker. the wish i were a fish-stamp is by G-studio. i do wish i was a fish when i see my husband's fascination with the slippery beauties! ( makes you think.............) the little big fishies at the bottom were stamped with a really cheap stamp that i love. stamped with Tea Dye Distress ink, and i just outlined them with dots, stripes and a solid line. i added some Cinnamon stickles for eyes...........

here is a close up of the title and the journaling. i used shocking pink chipboard alphas by Heidi Swapp. i sanded them off, and also embossed them with the mixed powder. i love the fact that you can alter anything into whatever you want or need in Scrapbooking. it really makes life alot easier! i used the ledger punch from EK Success to do the borders on the pages. hope you like it! please hop on over to SSS and send in your layout! you never know - you could just be the lucky winner! someone has to win! i will maybe be back with something else that i made later or tomorrow, or i might just bore you with some ramblings! i know that i have not been as dedicated to my blog as i was - work and the shop has been keeping me really busy, and with December around the corner, i am not sure if it will get better..............but i will try!! enjoy your Saturday afternoon!! xxxx
