moments....

so............i am still on that mission to work through the pile of old photos that have been following me since i started scrapping more than 5 years ago.  i have decided to keep it simple with these - they are all original photos, and of course 20 plus years ago, photos were not taken with the intention of Scrapbooking them - they were just snapshots to preserve moments and memories.  i used some Fabscraps bare chipboard alphas i still bought at Scrapbook Nook in PE in 2007 (yes, i remember where i bought most of my items!!!) and i embossed them with some bronze UTEE.  i know this is not what UTEE is meant for, but i just love the effect!  i then dug out some chipboard scrolls i had bought from Bohemian Scrapsody in 2007, and i covered them with some Aged Mahogany Crackle Paint.  i then added a layer of Glossy Accents.

i created accents using the photos - matted each photo twice on an extra large mat.  i stamped a scallop text border with Adirondack Snow Cap Pigment Ink beneath the photo.  i then took some white satin ribbon, and coloured it with Aged Mahogany Distress Stain to get the right colour and match the cardstock.   i just LOVE these products - and the fact that everything co-ordinates!!!  added some brads (just because i never use them) and also sanded the edges of my photos as well as the cardstock mats

and here is the finished layout!  very simple - my parents are both very simple and understated people, so i wanted to not clutter the page with all kinds of elements that would detract from the photos.  the paper is an ancient Signature Bohemia paper by My Mind's Eye.  i found some copper photo corners and added one to each photo.  i am pleased with the result - i feel the photos are the focus of the page, and although they are more than 20 years old, they are still in good condition, and now they are where they should be - in an album!!
