Beautiful Things.....

My best friend Gail took me with her to the USA last year. She had to go for a back operation, and needed a "hand". (A shopping aide..........????) Needless to say, it was wonderful - and on my trip, I bought some GRUNGEBOARD. My friend Jowilna had featured Grungeboard in her magazine IMAGINELink, but it was not yet available in South Africa. I bought a pack when I was in the USA (this was June 2008). The grungeboard look at me, I STARED at it for about 9 months. Then I decided to actually use some of it! I bought this Demi Product mini album the first week I started scrapping, and it had been lying in a drawer for almost 2 years. I threw away all the stuff I did not like that came with it, and decided to make something for ME. Something I can look at, using all the magical stuff I had accumulated, but did not want to use, for fear of???? Heaven knows! Maybe I was scared that it would be finished and I won't get it again? Maybe I was worried that my feeble attempts at creating beauty would disappoint? Who knows! But I just started covering the book. Using samples I had created with alcohol inks and glossy paper, stamps, and again stamps everywhere, painting butterflies with metallic waterpaints, collaging, using my vintage beauties, quotes, PAPER, gorgeous paper...............shrink plastic, random words, meaning nothing, except maybe something to an enquiring mind.............

This is absolutely gorgeous Cariena and a tremendous amount of work was involved. So satisfying to be able to admire the fruits of your labour. Well done! hugs Sharon
