Double Page Scrapbook Layout...

i tried my best, and as the day is coming to a close, here is my layout! i really hope the colours come to their right on the blog - the golds and the pearls don't always seem to look as beautiful as they do in real life!

i had lots of pictures of my cousin and his wife - same wedding as the post i did a few days ago. kim is usually in very neutral colours, and she looked so gorgeous in this red outfit - sparkling!

i wanted the photos to be the main feature of the page, and as my subjects like things uncomplicated, i did not want to do a layout that was littered with embellishments. i tried to keep to the circle theme by taking three 1 inch bazzil chipboard circles, covering 2 of them with the patterned paper i used and covering the last one in two layers of UTEE, after which i stamped with my metal clock stamp into the UTEE, while hot. as you can see, a nice feauture if you don't know what to put on a page!! i added the ribbon underneath the 3 medallions, and a nice gold shimmer organza just tied in a knot to finish the feature off. i used a chipboard phototurn here, and also embossed it with gold UTEE. i did glue it first and then i just added a pale gold brad through the hole to complete it. i only did one layer of UTEE - if i wanted a smoother finish, i could have added another layer, as i did with the flourish. the flourishes are from Maya Road - you buy them in those great tins - i don't think i will be able to ever use them up!

i kept them plain, just added the two layers if UTEE.

for the names, i printed them on the PC, and then used Sahara Sand chalk by Vesamagic around the edges. i then added two layers of clear UTEE to add some dimension. i did not want to use glossy accents - in my experience glossy accents make the printed letters bleed. i really hope you can see the effect! this is a great method - it also looks really great if you have alphabet rubons or letter stickers, and you put it onto plain cardstock, distress the edges, and then add two or three layers of glossy accents - looks great!

i do hope you like the layout and that you will have a good night's rest before the week starts again! i am off to Cape Town on Thursday for our International Scrapbook Convention - we have Kaisercraft, Prima, Glitz Designs, Clearsnap, KI Memories and American Crafts teaching! i can't wait! i will let you know everything on the 5th! i will try and post another card or two before i leave, but i have lots of work to get through before i go! sweet dreams!
