distressed Whiff of Joy Card

what a lazy Saturday afternoon!! Penny (my spaniel) and i went for our twice yearly haircuts (yes, she loves them, i hate them) this morning and i could not wait to get back home!! i wanted to explore more coloring options for my images!! i got this from Paola last week, and i have not had a chance to ink her, and i knew i wanted to make a distressed card!! when i got home i saw that there was a tutorial on the Whiff of Joy Tutorial Blogspot, about shading with Chalks. it looked really nice!! i remembered that i had bought a set of Chalks last year (another item i bought and never used) and i took them out!! i colored the whole image with the chalks. used the beautiful Patterned Paper from My Mind's Eye and some dictionary paper. i then cut the tag with my Slice and the Noteworthy design card. the sentiment is also from WOJ. i distressed all the edges with my Tim Holtz distresser and used Chestnut Roan by Colorbox around all the edges, except around the base card's edges - there i used tea dye. the flower is by Prima - beautiful!! i glued the loose pearls around the flower in a swirl shape (kind of) and a lone diamante finishes it off!!

only after i finished the card, i saw that Whiff of Joy Monday challenges wanted pearls and swirls, so i entered it!! i would love to know what you think - it is the first time that i have made a card in this style ................... should i make more of these or keep to my cleanline cards? i do value your opinion!!!
