a few challenges..........

i decided today that i needed to search blogland for a few challenges, and then MAKE a card according to the challenges - or try and incorporate a few. of course i picked the first one i found as a base, and from there on just added elements as the number of challenges i decided i was going to enter this card into, grew. so, here we go!!
first up is the Quixotic challenge. i had to use a neglected stamp. i had not used these butterflies in more than a year and a half, so i think they qualify!!
next we have the Creative Card Crew. here you had to use a punch - i used Fiskars' Threading water punch. i just have to mention here that i was going to use my flower border punch, also by Fiskars. i know that i have used that punch 6 times in my life. the CS i wanted to punch was AC - famous for being punch/die cut machine friendly. and my punch flat out broke. i am EXTREMELY disappointed - it was VERY expensive. i recommend metal based stamps..........especially the border ones, like EK Success.
my sketch came from the Pink Elephant Challenge.
Sophisticat wanted us to use SPRING colors, so that's why there are pinks and greens
Allsorts Challenge Blog wanted brown and pink - i think there is enough of that on the card!!
and of course Flutterby wanted......you guessed it..........a butterfly!!!
so, there you have it! i used all American Crafts DP, the stamp is by a South African Company, Great Impressions (thank you Blanche!!!), the sentiment was cut from plain cream cardstock with my Slice, and then enbossed with brown ZING EP and that is it!! oh, i used my embossing pens to color the butterflies and then embossed it with clear EP. i think it is called the stained glass effect??? i am not sure. you can't really see it in the photo's, but i love the effect it gives!
stay tuned for more wildlife pictures from my garden - it has been a real zoo here in the past 24 hours!!!!
