lumiere, golden and pearl ex meet
i have been inspired to go through my stash of goodies i bought when Gail and i went to the USA in 2008. (if i knew then what i knew now, i would have bought LOTS of different stuff) but this card was made with a few of the items i am glad i bought!! the whole card is basically white cardstock and two chipboard pieces. i painted the main background with my purple paint dabber, and stamped a script stamp by Great Impressions over it. i then used my Lumiere purple paint to paint the frame. it was too similar too the background, so i mixed some gold Pearl Ex with some Gum Arabic and did a wash over the purple. i then almost killed my new (and last i will ever buy) Fiskars edger punch, by first painting the cardstock, and after it was dry, trying to punch it - DOES NOT WORK. you have to first punch it, and then paint it. (i have an EK success edger punch, not scallops but little dots, and i did not have the same problem when i used that one. since my other Fiskars punch broke over the weekend when i tried to punch standard CS, and now this, i have unfortunately decided that i will never buy a Fiskars punch again) anyway, so after punching it, i painted it with my Iridescent Gold paint by Golden. i got the image from a free site at some stage and printed it the size of the frame. stamped the sentiment on a left over piece of the painted CS, and secured the label holder with two black brads. of course i have to enter it for a challenge, and i am entering it into Daisy May's Vintage Challenge for this week. i am sure it does not really qualify as my image is not really cute, but maybe with a stretch of imagination her look could be construed as cute in vintage language!! LOL!! anyway, you guys sleep tight, i am off to bed now, it has been a long day and i am ready for some ZZZZZZZZZZZ''sssssssss!!!!!

If you ever need something that you see advertised in the U.S., I'd be glad to buy for you and send it to you. I had a friend in California who moved to the U.S, from So. Africa and she said it was quite a culture shock at first, but she loved it in the long run. I would love to visit So.Africa some day. I signed on as a follower to your blog and will visit often. Nice to meet you via the Maggies. Cindy Silberblatt aka ScrapNannie
