AN ALL THINGS TIM CARD!!!
well, CHA is in full swing, and i am only dreaming of all the wonderful things that are being revealed there..........you guys must be wondering if i don't have a life, well, my husband went fishing this weekend, and i feel like it is Christmas - my time all to myself!! i mean, he really does not mind that i stamp all the time, (except when i have to go to work, cook, do laundry, make coffee for him etc etc) but it is just different when you are all alone......am i the only one that feels like that? i am so happy - i can just play the whole day long!!!! i had a 5 hour break when i went and quickly did a mini-class this afternoon, but that was not work!!!
i had not used my TH stamps that much in the last month or so, and this is part of a new set i got a while back, Urban Tapestry. i decided to use ALL things TIM/RANGER, and really, except for the paper and the beads, everything on this card is theirs!
i first stamped the bird on very dark kraft CS with my clear embossing pad, and then used Ranger's Super Fine Black Detail EP to emboss the image. i then added some paint from the Purple Twilight Paint dabber to some Cut and Dry foam, and covered the whole piece with the paint. although i had done this technique before, i was refreshed by this tutorial on Ellen Hutson's blog today. i let it airdry - i did not want the EP to melt any further. while i waited for that to dry, i did the corners of the card the same way - clear EI and Black Superfine EP. when the painted image was dry, i took a baby wipe and wiped quite a lot of paint off, so that the bird image came shining through and you could almost JUST see the Kraft CS peeking through. i then took a small charm fragment, and looked for a sentiment that would fit on it. i also stamped that with the clear EI and used black EP to emboss it. i did melt my charm a little - it was the first time i had done this technique, Patti from my All Things Tim Group, gave me the idea, referring to something Tim did in 2008. i then glued some DP to the back with Glossy Accents. i then added a jump ring and a safety pin, and also beaded a few thingies and added that. when i put it all together, the poor image looked so bare, that i decided to do something to the corner. i did a few things (had to repaint almost the whole bird) and in the end i found this little corner that was too small for my 12 Tags of Xmas tag (remember when we did the one with the glass that i hammered????) and since my image was already stuck down, i just hammered the corner into position!!! (not a word!!!!!!)
