birthday card

happy 2010 to everyone!! i hope you all had a super Christmas and that this New Year will be filled with laughter, happiness and lots of HUGS and STAMPS!!
i made this card for my friend Gail's birthday - her husband did not want to buy a card in a shop, and he CAN'T make one!!! it was a strugg;e to find a stamp that she does not have - and i settled on this set from Kaisercraft. i stamped the birdhouse on the same patterned paper as the background with my Versamark pad and embossed it with Top Boss Red EP. i also stamped the bird with the Versamark pad and used Ranger's Black Sparkle. the happy day stamp is from MSE (are they still in business?? LOVE their stamps) and the rest is obvious.................... i do hope she liked it and that it will inspire someone out there!! lots of love!!

in the Southern Hemisphere we have a lot more stars than the Northern Hemisphere. we are apparantly closer to the Milky Way, or something like that..........i am not sure of the exact facts. all i know is that i have lived in both hemispheres, and for some reason there are lots more stars down here at the Southern Tip of Africa. when you think of the Psalmist lying on his back 3000 years ago, gazing at the stars, and realising his own (lack of) worth, you can't help but wonder what he would have thought if he saw the Milky Way in all it's splendour in the Southern Hemisphere...... in 2010 my wish for all of you is that you will realise your worth to God, and that you will disregard the wisdom of man, and concentrate on the Person in Whose Image you were created, and KNOW that He KNOWS everything about you - and that He wants only the best for you. know that we live in a fallen world where Satan has been let loose - only for a short while - and that you must stay steadfast and keep your eyes on Jesus Christ on the Cross. know that the suffering you experience here is temporary and that wealth and health and THINGS cannot save your soul and the "comfort" it provides is fleeting. take up the Word of the Lord as your sword and protection and BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD.
