Copic Whiff of Joy Card

hello everyone from a very Sunny South Africa! it is a beautiful day - the butterflies are butterflying, the garden is full of birds chatting away, the garden is happy-happy because it got lots of water last night!!

i joined the Copic Crafters group last night - and boy, did they inspire me!! after re-arranging some of my stuff to fit into my new drawers, i saw my poor Copics lying there - all nice and new and nothing to color!!! so, this morning i decided to use one of my new Whiff of Joy stamps and my Copics, and attempt at coloring! i have to admit - it was a difficult one - lots of little leaves and fruit and VERY LITTLE EXPERIENCE with the medium!! the tree's pot drove me crazy - it bled ALOT outside the lines where i shaded it a bit (to the left) i tried to use my colorless blender to get rid of it, but i think the cardstock is just not right. i then went over the detail of the pot with my Spica Glitter Pen (thanks Paola) and also in the veins of the leaves. i added some red Stickles to the fruit and mounted it twice - once on red CS and then on some Que Sera Sera Patterned paper by K & Co. used Tea Dye DI to do the edges of the image and the card. what i found amazing was all the colors i had to use for the little image!! WOW!! it was fun, though, but now i need to PRACTICE!!

You've done a wonderful job on your card Cariena! I just joined the Yahoo group yesterday also! It's a busy place, and I hope I'll pick up lots of tips and ideas. Your leaves and tree are awesome, and even that troublesome pot turned out wonderfully. Paper can make all the difference, and here's a little tip I learned at class. If the humidity is high, dry iron your paper (don't scorch it!) before you color. Sometimes that will help with the bleeding issues.

This card is stunning Cariena. Glad to see you are using your Copics. I must admit that mine aren't being used as much as they should be!! How weird of you to dream about me!! I have always dreamed of having a "career" in scrapbooking, so maybe it will come true one day (I wish!!) Thanks so much for all the lovely comments you have been leaving for me, I really do appreciate each and every one so much. Your last one really made me chuckle! Hugs, Rene'
