out of my comfort zone.......
i do not have children. i have never been pregnant. so PLEASE do not ask me why i ordered two pregnant ladies from Whiff of Joy last year when Paola asked me what i wanted..........maybe deep down i have a yearning???? i don't know. ANYWAY, this card just evolved. Kathy from my RSA group sold me a Stampin'Up Blender pen that i was after. i received it yesterday, and i wanted to play with it. i also decided that i had to use stamps that i had never used before. i used 300gsm watercolor paper to stamp the image on, and colored it with my Derwent Inktense Pencils. i was a bit disappointed in the blender - it is fine the first time you blend, but it is as if you can't add more color and blend again, it reacts with the paper and "ruffles" it - does that make sense? on the other hand, i am a novice, so i suppose i must just practice!! once again i really struggled with the color scheme - my bench is the wrong brown, her hair is dead and the blue of the dress looked very mundane. so i added some twinkling H20's to the dress - do they still make H20's? - and added the embossed butterflies for some color. then i went looking for DP. i think my mistake is that i color first..........should i perhaps choose my paper first? i found these papers from We R Memory Keepers from a convention i went to 2 years ago, and thought they suited the image quite well. i then looked for a challenge or two, and found Simon Says, where you have to use something punched (got that with the ledger punch) and Whiff of Joy (how appropriate!!!) where you had to use 3 DP, 2 blings and a flower. i hope a bunch of flowers qualifies as A flower..........and that is the card for now! hope you like it - can the experts please give some tips on paper, blending and choice of color??? PLEASE!!!
