SA Scrapbook Convention Part 1 ...the Glitz Girls

okey dokey, here goes!! they were not first on the list, but i have finished both the single page layouts we had to do in their class, so here it is! i hate bling and pink and purple also does not feature high on my favourite list when it comes to scrapbook colours. the Glitz Girls seem to do everything in pink and purple and bling, BUT they use Tim Holtz' Paint Daubers and they distress everything, so i figured i could tolerate it.

first off, these girls are gorgeous. really, close up, gorgeous. between the two of them that were here, they have 9 kids (yup) and they are really gorgeous. friendly, softspoken, humble and gorgeous. they do everything themselves - design, manufature, market etc their own stuff. they believe it should be fast and effective - they are mothers, wives and businesswomen who love to scrap, but they don't have time for all the "creating", so everything is basically there, you just have to slap it together.

now, before you judge too harshly, we were given sketches of the layouts and told to bring photos in various sizes for the various classes. so, diligent student that i was, (i never take photos to these things) i actually prepared all the photos for ALL the classes. Of course GREAT was my surprise when the photos i took for this class, ended up being my PUPPY DOGS!! so, gaby, grunter and penny ended up being framed by Hot Mama scrapbooking paper in hot pink and all glitzed up

do i like their products.......i love their stamps - they are fantastic. they are all distressed and the designs are great. i am not sure if they are 100% unique - script, numbers, dots etc, but nice sizes and the price is not too bad. i really liked their journalling stickers and the rubons worked really well.

honestly, i am not sure if i will use their paper and products like we did in the class - i might grab a patterned paper and incorporate it into a layout with other colours or use their vintage rubons (gorgeous stuff) and the stamps individually.

put together, it is a bit overwhelming for me. as for my dogs - they will now be eternalised in really hot colours, designed by really hot girls - what more can a dog ask for?

i also believe that they have some gorgeous other lines that are not as pink as the one we used, so i am really open. i like the fact that they are out there, they like their product and they took a chance in this business.
